Well not a huge amount to report. It has now been 6 Months since KPS bought the Waterford Group and we still have not had confirmation of what will be happening to the Waterford Crystal, Edinburgh Crystal and Stuart Crystal Brands.
Whilst we have been getting some stock through there are still big stock gaps in key product areas. What we are all waiting to hear is the ongoing status or at least the intentions of what they plan to do with the Brands and furthermore the patterns within those brands.
We have loyal customers waiting patiently for news and we are keen to satisfy them and take some money too!
For what it is worth I would do the following.
Keep Waterford Crystal, produce the prestige best selling patterns of Wine Glasses like Colleen and Lismore Glasses, along with prestige Waterford giftware in Ireland. Outsource the Designer Brands of John Rocha Crystal and Jasper Conran Glass.
Keep Edinburgh Crystal and outsource all product with the possible exception of Star of Edinburgh their one good selling Prestige pattern.
Sell off Stuart Crystal to someone that can give it the care and attention it deserves.
Whatever they choose to do they need to do it now. There is a limit as to how long ourselves and our customers are prepared to put up with their inefficiency and incompetence. It is make your mind up time!
